AHLL utilizes subcommittees to improve the overall efficiency of the AHLL Board.

Please contact the AHLL Secretary or appropriate subcommittee chair if you are interested in serving on a subcommittee as a non-board member.

  1. Unless otherwise noted, subcommittees may be staffed by non-board members, but at least one board member should be on each committee (with the exception of the Advisory Committee)
  2. Committee Chair should be Board Position most responsible for subcommittee assignment
  3. The Snack Shack, Equipment, and Fields Subcommittees shall have fixed expenditure limits as determined on an annual basis by the AHLL Board
  4. Subcommittees should submit agenda items, requests (with supporting rationale/justifications), and reports to the Secretary ahead of regular AHLL Board meetings.

Advisory Committee

  • Comprised of former AHLL members or those with no children currently involved in the league to allow for transparency and to resolve conflicts (actual or perceived).

Fields Committee (Chaired by Fields Coordinator)

  • Comprised of Single A rep, AA rep, AAA rep, Majors rep, and/or general member(s).

  • Works within predetermined budget & expenditure limit to provide for fields, field related equipment, projects, field maintenance, and/or repairs.  Expenditures in excess of established budget and expenditure limits requires majority approval by quorum of AHLL Board.

Player/Umpire Equipment Committee

  • Comprised of Equipment Coordinator, UIC, Board Member(s), or general member(s).

  • Works within predetermined budget & expenditure limit to purchase player/umpire related equipment.  Expenditures in excess of established budget and expenditure limits require majority approval by quorum of AHLL Board.

Snack Shack Committee

  • Comprised of Snack Shack Coordinator, Board Member(s), and/or general members.

  • Works within predetermined budget & expenditure limit to purchase snack shack related equipment/supplies.  Expenditures in excess of established budget and expenditure limits require majority approval by quorum of AHLL Board.

Rules/By-Laws Committee

  • Comprised of Coaching Coordinator, UIC, Player Agents, and/or league manager(s).

  • Examine/amend by-laws and playing rules, report recommendations to full board for approval

Protest Committee

  • Per AHLL By-Laws and LL Rule Book - President, UIC, Upper or Lower Player Agent, and another board member not a manager/coach in that division

Finance Committee

  • Comprised of Treasurer, President, VP, and other Board Member as determined by AHLL Board.

  • Provide for regular evaluation of the League’s financial health and to regularly report findings and recommendations to the Full Board.

Discipline / Code of Conduct Committee

  • Evaluates and determines appropriate sanctions for ejections, Code of Conduct violations, or other violations of the by-laws (i.e. not meeting volunteer requirements)

  • President, VP, UIC, Upper Player Agent, and/or Coaching Coordinator

Special Events Committee

  • Special Events committee is responsible for planning/staffing special events such as Opening Day, Picture Day, Angels Day, etc.  The use of Team Coordinators and/or other volunteers is highly desired.
